A step-by-step system to ensure your new website pages show up on Google — perfect for local SEO.
Visit the Live Page ✅
Go to the new page URL and make sure it loads without error. Example:
https://yourdomain.com/service/roof-repair/
If it’s showing 404 or redirect errors, stop and fix it before proceeding.
Check If It’s in the Sitemap 📄
Visit your sitemap:
/sitemap.xml or /sitemap_index.xml
Look for the new page URL. If missing, update or resave the page to refresh the sitemap (if using RankMath or Yoast).
Submit URL in Google Search Console 🔎
Go to Google Search Console, select your domain, and paste the page URL into the URL Inspection Tool. Then click Request Indexing.
Expected status: URL is on Google or Discovered – not indexed
Fix Non-Indexed Pages 🧩
Go to GSC ➜ Indexing ➜ Pages and check:
Discovered – Not Indexed ⏳
Add 1–2 internal links to this page from other pages.
Then re-request indexing in the URL Inspection Tool.
Crawled – Not Indexed 🧐
Improve content (text, images, FAQs) and wait 7–14 days.
Then re-request indexing.
Duplicate – Google Chose Canonical ⚠️
Check the canonical tag. If needed, change it to point to the correct version and re-index.
404 / Redirect Error ❌
Fix the broken page or redirect chain. Then click Validate Fix in GSC.
