A free AI visibility tool for law firms — answer engine optimization, measured against your live site rather than guessed at.
When someone asks ChatGPT for an immigration lawyer, it goes and reads law firm websites to answer. This checks whether it can read yours — by requesting your homepage once as each of the six major AI crawlers, using their real published user-agent strings, and showing you exactly what your server sent back.
Most “AI readiness” checkers read your robots.txt and infer. Robots.txt is a policy document, and the security service in front of your site routinely contradicts it. This measures what actually happens.
About 15 seconds. Try echenlaw.com to see a firm that blocks five of six crawlers.
Observed crawler access
Each tile is one real request to the homepage using that crawler's published user-agent, with ordinary browser requests before and after as controls.

What to fix, in order
Sequenced by how much visibility each step unlocks. Where should we send it?
We send the list and nothing else. No sequence, no drip.
Rocket Launch Media works exclusively with immigration law firms. Send this page to whoever maintains your site, or book a call and we will walk through it together.
Book a callFour things decide whether an AI assistant can recommend an immigration law firm. Every one is checked against your own site, and every finding shows the evidence it came from.
We request your homepage once per crawler — OAI-SearchBot, GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot — with ordinary browser requests before and after as controls. If the browser gets the page and a crawler does not, that gap is the finding. The controls matter: a site that is simply down refuses everything equally, and calling that “blocking AI crawlers” would be wrong.
Assistants rely on structured data to state a firm’s name, address, phone and
practice area with confidence. Without LegalService or Attorney
JSON-LD, a model has to infer everything from prose, and it usually declines to.
An assistant answers a question by finding a page that already answers it. Question-shaped headings, named case types, a named attorney with bar credentials, and Spanish-language content are what turn a website into a citable source for an immigration law firm.
Models check whether anyone else says what your site says. Directory and bar listings are the fastest way to be corroborated.
We ran this audit against every immigration law firm we could find with a live website, across 39 US metros. The results were worse than we expected.
We also asked ChatGPT, with live web search on, 195 real client questions across those 39 metros in English and Spanish, and recorded which sources it actually cited. Expertise.com appeared in 43% of answers, Super Lawyers in 29%, Avvo in 27%, Chambers in 21% and Justia in 16%. For most firms, getting listed on those is faster and cheaper than anything you can do on your own site.
AI visibility is whether an assistant can find you, read you, and feel safe naming you. It is not a ranking. There is no position two in a ChatGPT answer — you are either in the response or you are not, and for most firms the deciding factor happens before any of the writing matters: whether the crawler was allowed to fetch the page at all.
That is why this is an AI visibility tool rather than an AI visibility score. A score averages away the one problem that is costing you everything. The findings below the score are the part worth reading, and each one names the evidence it came from so your developer can act on it without taking our word for anything.
Answer engine optimization — AEO — is the work of becoming the source an assistant quotes when somebody asks it a question. For an immigration firm the questions are predictable: who handles removal defense near me, what does a green card lawyer cost, can I still file after a denial. The firms that get named are the ones whose pages already pose those questions and answer them plainly, in both English and Spanish, with a named attorney and a verifiable bar credential attached.
Three things move an AEO result faster than anything else, in this order: let the crawlers
in, mark the firm up as a LegalService with a real address, and publish direct
answers to the questions clients actually ask. This tool checks all three and tells you which
one is costing you the most right now.
No. The audit only reads your site, the same way a search engine does. It makes eight requests to your homepage and nothing else.
Almost always by accident. A security plugin, a CDN bot-protection setting, or a robots.txt line copied from a template will refuse unrecognised user-agents. AI crawlers are unrecognised user-agents. Most firms we audit have no idea it is happening.
It is the median for immigration law firms, which means half the market is below it. The score matters less than the individual findings — a single robots.txt line can cost more visibility than twenty smaller issues combined.
The audit is free and the full fix list is yours for an email address. If you want the work done, Rocket Launch Media works exclusively with immigration law firms.
Monthly. Site changes, plugin updates and CDN setting changes can close access to AI crawlers without anyone noticing.
